Blair in spotlight over secret party loans

Tony Blair will face questions on Thursday over Labour funding amid allegations that the party accepted secret loans worth millions from wealthy business backers who were then nominated by the prime minister for peerages.

The inquiry will cast a shadow over a press conference on Thursday that Mr Blair had hoped to use to make the case for his education reforms after winning Wednesday night’s Commons vote.
