Alitalia given ultimatum on rescue offer

Air France-KLM left the door open to a possible rescue of Alitalia but only on the terms already rejected by the Italian trade unions.

Air France-KLM has been seeking to negotiate a takeover of the struggling Italian flag carrier for months but has always made clear it would only press ahead with a deal if it was backed by the Italian government and the Alitalia unions and workforce.
