Yahoo seeks new chief

The resignation of Jerry Yang, from the chief executive post at Yahoo leaves the company looking for a replacement. Mr Yang, 40, became CEO in June 2007. The company said it was in the process of "assessing potential candidates and determining finalists for consideration".

Mr Yang said: "Having set Yahoo on a new, more open path, the time is right for me to transition the CEO role and our global talent to a new leader." *Former Alibaba Group vice-president Porter Erisman has joined italki, a new China-based social network for learning langauges, as board advisor.
