Police seek to break impasse on Litvinenko

The deadlock between Moscow and London over the murder of Alexander Litvinenko could be nearing an end following Scotland Yard's invitation to Russian prosecutors for a discussion over the two countries' conflicting lines of inquiry.

The probe into the death last November by polonium-210 poisoning of the former Russian spy had threatened to spiral into a diplomatic row.
