Probes spanned four continents

The steadily multiplying official probes into alleged bribery by BAE Systems have covered four continents and an exotic collection of individuals ranging from a Saudi Arabian prince to a British businessman in east Africa.

The probes by both anti-fraud authorities and the media have shone a broader light on the agents lubricating international business and the lines that divide legal commissions from illegal bribes.
