Couple challenge retrospective tax bill

A husband and wife company appealing against a retrospective tax bill in a case that could determine the liabilities of tens of thousands of small businesses set out its case in the appeal court yesterday.

Arctic Systems, an IT consultancy run by Geoff Jones and his wife Diana who had split ownership of their business between them, is facing a retrospective bill of £42,000 after a High Court judge found in favour of Revenue & Customs earlier this year.
