US housing starts growth slows

New residential construction continued to climb in the US last month, but the increase was smaller than expected as the looming expiration of the first-time homebuyer tax credit cast a cloud over the market.

Separately on Tuesday the labour department said that wholesale prices fell in September, pulled back by a slump in energy prices.
