Election next year to affect Sugar TV show

The BBC could be forced to reschedule The Apprentice if a general election takes place next year because Lord Sugar’s role as the government’s business champion poses a risk of impartiality to the corporation, the BBC Trust has ruled.

Lord Sugar, famous for firing candidates on the reality TV show, was appointed “enterprise tsar” by Gordon Brown, prime minister, in June and given a seat in the Lords.
