S Korea posts rise in exports amid mixed data

South Korea on Tuesday posted its first annual rise in exports for more than a year in November but mixed data from Seoul poured cold water on any premature celebrations.

The ministry of knowledge economy said reviving exports, which grew 19 per cent from last year, would remain a priority and should allay nerves about transport union strikes and ripples from Dubai World’s debt rescheduling, which roiled Seoul stocks.
