Siemens earmarks €1bn for legal costs

Siemens said it would set aside €1bn ($1.3bn) to cover the cost of settling legal action in the US and Germany resulting from the bribery scandal at the engineering group.

The size of the provision suggests that a fine by US authorities could be much lower than expected.
