Pessimism still swirls around WPP’s outlook

Investors in WPP have had an unsettling week as the world’s largest marketing and communications group found itself on the defensive.

Arch-rival Publicis Groupe snapped up Razorfish, Microsoft’s digital agency in which WPP had also shown an interest. And analysts at Morgan Stanley and UBS stirred market concern about whether WPP needed to launch an equity fundraising to protect its credit rating.
