Court hears challenges to Musharraf

Pakistan’s supreme court on Monday began hearing a number of petitions challenging General Pervez Musharraf’s ‘dual position’ as leader of the country and head of the army.

A nine-member panel of judges is expected to review six petitions urging the court to disqualify the US-backed General Musharraf as a candidate in upcoming presidential elections.
