Swine flu jabs programme begins

Hospital workers will on Wednesday begin receiving swine flu jabs, as the government launches a vaccination programme that will spread to GP surgeries next Monday.

Two million nurses, doctors and social care workers in frequent contact with people at risk of infection will be the first to receive protection, reducing their risk of infection which would in turn weaken the health service.
