Sentiment among oil traders stays bullish

Year-end book squaring amid rapidly falling trading volumes added an extra dash of volatility to the commodities markets this week as they wound down for the holidays.

Although both the Nymex West Texas Intermediate and the Brent crude front month contracts registered net losses over the week, most of the newsflow was bullish, including data showing US demand hit a record high in the previous week.
