Crosby lukewarm over quick fix

There is no silver bullet that will revive the wholesale mortgage market, reduce borrowing costs and take the pressure off the housing market.

That is the main message of the interim report to government of Sir James Crosby, former chairman of HBOS. Even if there were some magic Alistair Darling could conjure, the report is lukewarm about the desirability of a quick fix.
