Use economic upturn to quicken reform, says Barroso

Europe was urged on Tuesday to use the economic upswing to speed structural reforms, amid warnings that rigid labour markets and stifled competition remain serious problems.

José Manuel Barroso, the European Commission president, said reforms were paying off but added: “There is no room for complacency.”
