Investors warn over convergence

A powerful coalition of investors has warned it could withdraw its support for the convergence of US and international accounting standards amid concern the project is threatening to weaken corporate financial reporting.

The International Corporate Governance Network - headed by Mark Anson, chief executive of Hermes Pensions Management - has sent a forthright letter to the International Accounting Standards Board setting out its fears.
