Case study: Trades lag hopes at DIFX

When the Dubai Financial Exchange was first set up in autumn 2005, hopes for this new platform were riding almost as high as the global oil price.

Amid a blitz of hype, this new exchange announced ambitions to become the new international hub for capital markets in the region – modelled on international securities platforms such as Singapore or London.
