Brands warned of risk from web failings

Many consumer companies in Britain risk harming their brands by failing to develop coherent strategies for on-line marketing, according to Google's European head.

Nikesh Arora said a survey for Google and the CBI employers' organisation had found most companies prepared to admit they still had a lot to learn about how to reach customers online.
