MTN and Reliance face growth challenges

With the genesis of an emerging market telecoms titan stymied for now, both MTN of South Africa and Reliance Communications of India will face questions from investors as to how they intend to prolong the rapid growth that has been their hallmark to date.

MTN, which is regarded as a champion of post-apartheid South Africa, will focus on continued expansion across the continent, where it has established itself as the leading telecoms operator.
