European equity markets slipped lower on Monday, weighed down by weakness in the banking sector but Acciona of Spain enjoyed strong gains as investors warmed to its transformation story.
The FTSE Eurofirst 300 fell 2.1 points, or 0.1 per cent, to 1,598.12.
