Romanian government collapses

Romania’s government collapsed on Tuesday after less than a year in office, heightening political uncertainty in the recession-struck country as it struggles to implement a tough package of economic reforms imposed by the International Monetary Fund.

The centre-right government of Emil Boc, prime minister, lost a parliamentary vote of confidence, leaving the country with an interim government with barely a month to go before presidential elections.
