US public and private sector pensions: divergent paths

Public pensions in the US and their corporate cousins have similar goals – meeting their long-term funding obligations. But the two types of plans are taking radically different investment paths as they seek to meet those goals.

A recent survey from Pyramis Global Advisors finds public funds are shifting their assets towards international equities, while corporations are moving more toward fixed income.
