Bolivian protests hit gas supplies to Brazil

Brazil on Thursday faced severe shortages of natural gas after violent protests in Bolivia caused the temporary closure of a pipeline that supplies about a quarter of Brazil’s daily needs.

And diplomatic tensions between some countries in the region and the US triggered in part by the Bolivian protests rose again as a string of tit-for-tat expulsions of diplomats continued.
