Frontier Silicon, the Watford-based semiconductor group whose technology kick-started and sustained the now booming digital radio market, has raised $28m (£15.8m) from new and existing investors with the aim of repeating its success in mobile digital television.
It has already developed the first of a family of silicon chips, which make it possible for consumers to receive and record television programmes on their mobile phones, electronic organisers or such devices as the Apple iPod.
