BA seeks Acas help with unions

British Airways is seeking help from the conciliation service Acas in its increasingly tense pay and productivity negotiations with its biggest trades unions.

The airline, which is facing a second consecutive year of heavy losses, said on Wednesday it had failed to reach agreement with its cabin crew, check-in and ground services staff on a package of reforms to employment terms and conditions by its self-imposed June 30 deadline.
