Fed mulls exceptional monetary measures

The Federal Reserve will discuss further unconventional monetary policy options at its meeting next week – one of its most challenging in modern times.

The US central bank will probably also reduce interest rates – most likely by 50 basis points to 0.5 per cent – although this is now very much a secondary issue.
