UK bond sale gamble comes good

The UK’s gamble in launching its first conventional sovereign bond syndication paid off on Tuesday as investors flocked to buy the debt, increasing the possibility that other governments could follow the British example.

Banks sold £7bn ($11.5bn) in new 25-year gilts after demand rose to £15.25bn in the space of two hours.
