Intel helps to fund Bath chip designer

Intel, the world's largest semiconductor manufacturer, is one of a group of investors providing $20.5m (£11.2m) in third-round funding to PicoChip, a private Bath-based chip designer.

The US company's involvement is further evidence, after ARM and Wolfson Microelectronics, that the UK can hold its own in the global market for specialist semiconductors.
