HK companies now eligible for carbon trading

Hong Kong companies that cut their carbon dioxide emissions in the city can now sell those emissions reduction in a $12.9bn global carbon credit market.

The new arrangements, announced by the Hong Kong government on Friday, is a step towards rectifying an awkward situation created by China’s “one country, two systems” rule over its special administrative region.
