Construction steel market faces drop-off

The UK market for construction steel will face a sharp drop-off next year as building projects started before the recession finish work, according to Severfield-Rowen.

Tom Haughey, chief executive of the UK’s largest listed structural steel manufacturer, said he was “extremely pessimistic about 2010” but said the market would recover after that.
