Sarkozy and Merkel call for further six months on A400M project

Partner nations involved in the fraught A400M military transport plane project need a further six months to agree how to rescue it, according to the leaders of France and Germany.

Nicholas Sarkozy, French president, said that he and Angela Merkel, German chancellor, had “decided that it would be good to give ourselves about six more months to continue discussions to find the best solution possible”.
