Fears of further instability in Russia's volatile north Caucasus rose yesterday as a second journalist in three days was shot and killed and another was beaten and left with a fractured skull.
The attacks on a TV reporter and the editor of an independent newspaper came days after a leading oppositionist in Ingushetia was shot dead by police in an incident that officials say was an accident but the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe said was an "assassination". www.ft.com/georgia
