Union rejects Visteon UK payout offer

Unite, the trade union, has rejected an offer for bigger redundancy payments to employees of Visteon’s bankrupt UK unit as “derisory”.

The US car parts group on Thursday offered the dismissed workers a cash payment equivalent to 16 weeks of their previous pay in a bid to defuse protests that have flared since its main UK business was placed into administration on March 31.
