Fight free trade’s corner, Darling tells business

British companies must argue the case for freer trade both in Britain and abroad or face the prospect of protectionism curbing British business prospects, Alistair Darling, the UK trade secretary, warned on Friday

Speaking to British business leaders on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at Davos, Mr Darling said Britain should demonstrate to other countries that opening up to trade is something to be embraced.
