Data has deteriorated since Mifid, says IMA

The market data that investors need to judge whether they are getting the best price when trading UK shares have “significantly deteriorated” since share trading was liberalised a year ago by the European Commission, the trade body for UK fund managers will warn on Tuesday.

Competition in the trading of UK and continental European stocks was unleashed a year ago with the enactment of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive – or Mifid.
