US sees ‘positive movement’ in Netanyahu speech

US president Barack Obama has welcomed Israel’s conditional acceptance of a ”two-state solution”.

In comments to the press on Monday night, he held open the prospect of ”serious talks” on a peace agreement and appeared to soften his administration’s language on a total freeze on Israeli settlements.
