Sunni left behind on Iraq constitution

Iraqi lawmakers are going ahead with drafting a constitution despite the continued failure to bring the country's main Sunni Arab groups into the process, members of the committee drafting the document said yesterday.

"We have started to form the basic lines and ideas of the constitution," said Ali al-Dabbagh of the Shia-led United Iraqi Alliance, which holds 28 seats in the 55-member committee.
