Volkswagen, Europe's largest carmaker, is targeting 10 per cent increases in both sales and productivity up until 2010, its chief executive said.
Martin Winterkorn added that VW should sell 8m cars in 2010 - an increase from 5.4m last year and an expected 6m in 2007 - "unless the sky falls on our heads" in a recent interview with Wirtschaftswoche magazine.
