Ferrari drives to top of 100 Best Workplaces in Europe rankings

Ferrari, the iconic Italian sports car maker with the prancing horse logo, has cantered to the top of the 100 Best Workplaces in Europe ranking for 2007, scotching the myth that the awards are the preserve of professional services and information technology companies.

Palle Ellemann Knudsen, managing director of the Great Place to Work Institute Europe, says Ferrari employees’ “incredible pride” in building the cars, and their special feeling towards the history of the marque, have contributed to the award. On top of this, he says, the Fiat-owned company excelled in giving its human resources practices a Ferrari twist, building team spirit.
