Migrants to face tighter work rules

Plans that could cut by about 10 per cent the number of skilled workers migrating to the UK from outside Europe were announced on Monday by Alan Johnson, home secretary.

The measures are aimed at addressing British workers’ fears of being undercut during the recession while avoiding tougher restrictions that would have upset business.
