US and China to begin investment talks

The US and China announced plans for talks on a bilateral investment treaty at the close of two days of high-level meetings in Annapolis, Maryland on Wednesday.

The talks will cover market-access issues and seek to establish formal “fair treatment” rights, under which inward investors would be assured the same treatment as domestic investors.
