Plan for trading Indian corporate bonds

Indian corporate bond markets could get a boost from regulators’ plans to introduce a formal clearing mechanism to increase liquidity and reduce counterparty risk.

The changes, to be introduced in the next three to four months, are designed to kick start the country’s nascent corporate bond market and is part of wider efforts to bring more assets on to trading platforms to improve transparency and efficiency in the market.
