Spanish OTC plans cause a stir

Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, the Spanish exchange, on Tuesday unveiled plans to launch a trade repository for the over-the-counter derivatives markets in a surprise move that looked set to stoke concerns on both sides of the Atlantic over the proliferation of such post-trade services.

Trade repositories act as electronic data storage centres where records of OTC trades are kept. They show who traded what contracts and at what price.
