US army chief calls for more resources to tackle Taliban

Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff, on Tuesday set out his position in the debate over whether Washington should send more troops to Afghanistan.

He called for a “properly resourced” counter-insurgency mission to deal with a growing Taliban uprising.
