Economists rap Merkel’s policies

Germany’s leading economic institutes on Thursday launched an all-out attack on the government’s economic policies, warning that they would do little to boost the country’s growth potential and could even be damaging.

The rebuff offered a stark contrast to the rosy picture the six institutes painted of the robust recovery underway in Europe’s largest economy as part of their traditional “autumn report” on the state of the German and international economies.
