Report reaffirms Obama’s office in the clear

Aides to President-elect Barack Obama had no inappropriate contact with Rod Blagojevich, the Illinois governor accused of trying to sell the Illinois Senate seat vacated by Mr Obama, according to an internal transition report.

Mr Blagojevich was arrested earlier this month over a host of corruption allegations that included attempting to extract cash or favours in exchange for selecting the Senate successor to Mr Obama.
