Budget demand boosts McBride

Increased demand for budget shampoos, deodorants, shower gels and detergents among recession-hit Europeans helped drive up sales and profits at McBride.

The company posted increased revenues of £792m from £701m in the year to June 30, as Europe’s leading provider of private label household and personal care products benefited from 4 per cent organic sales growth and a 9 per cent uplift from currency translation.
