Zero carbon project offered to builders

Developers will today be given the opportunity to tender for the first "zero carbon" housing development in London in a sign of the increasing environmental restrictions being placed on new building projects.

Ken Livingstone, London mayor, will invite bids to build about 200 high-quality homes on a three-acre site at Gallions Park, Albert Docks in east London.
