Tony Blair on Thursday night launched a powerful message of defiance against the terrorists who committed the London bombings, declaring that the perpetrators would not divide the British people nor change their way of life.

After flying back to Downing Street from the G8 summit in Gleneagles, the prime minister pledged that “the most intense police and security action” would be undertaken in order to bring the bombers to justice.
